16 May First Presidential Impeachment Results in Aquittal

1868 Andrew Johnson acquitted by one vote in the U.S. Senate on one of the eleven articles of impeachment the House of Representatives has charged him with. Senator Edmond G. Ross of Kansas is the deciding vote the final vote is 35 of 54 senators voting for conviction and 19 for acquittal.
